From The Earth Deadpool OG Review by OCWeedReview.Com

Ever wonder who grows your medicine or how much your budtender really knows about the strains they are suggesting?  Well, in the case of From The Earth’s Deadpool OG, the details will please you.  Expertly grown by one of From The Earth’s expert budtenders, this classicOG Kush cut is meticulously cultivated for a fully defined OG experience.

Named after everyone’s favorite foul-mouthed Marvel assassin, Deadpool OG isn’t a genetically affected hybrid or a fancy OG cut given an unnecessarily complicated backstory.  Instead, Deadpool OG is is just a carefully grown natural OG.  This care includes specific attentions to detail, such as adding lemon juice to the soil to balance the ph and help ensure the flowering plants uptake the nutrients needed to grow to their fullest.

Because it is so scrupulously grown, the individual characteristics of this plant are all the more pronounced.  The bud’s dark forest greenery contains no shortage of trichomes across its surface.  The nuggets are dense and conical, like bushy xmas trees.  But then they break up chunky and sticky like a lemony sativa.  Surprisingly sticky, actually.  And fragrant.  Leaving the fingers tacky and odorous.  The piney lemon of classic OGs is strong in the scent profile, but I also picked up plenty of myrcene as a dominant terpene with hints of hops and lemongrass.

Deadpool OG is an absolute cure for stress and anxiety — a vacation day in a pop top.  The wellbeing generated by this high is second to none and shows what made OG Kush popular in the first place. It is obviously listed as indica dominant (high levels of myrcene can be sedating) but don’t be surprised if it feels energetic at first before settling into an all over comfortable feeling.  A top of the line OG in my book, like Deadpool, it has superhuman healing abilities: specifically, its capacity for decimating anxiety and tension held in the muscles and joints.

Find this and other great strains at From The Earth in Santa Ana.

Sherbert Tarantula Joint from Ganja Gold Review by OCWeedReview.Com

Ganja Gold bill themselves as the connoisseurs’ pre-roll: a bold claim, regardless of the item.  However, time after time, they prove it to be true.  Always a clean, even burn, Ganja Gold tarantula joints are more than worth the price they fetch.  Each joint is hand rolled with premium top shelf flower and finished with CO2 oil and a layer of kief: think Kurupt Moon Rocks, but as a pre-rolled joint.  There is an excessiveness to Ganja Gold’s tarantula joints that makes them a uniquely special product.

There has been a flourish of “flavored” joints similar in construction and price to these tarantulas from Ganja Gold.  And if you want your cannabis to taste like a sour apple ring pop, then by all means.  However, if you want nothing to get in the way of the complex flavor of top shelf flower, cannabis oil, and kief, then step up to the adult’s pre-roll and grab a Ganja Gold.

I always found the Sherbert strain of the GSC lineage to be a really stoney high.  Fitting for anti-anxiety relief after a stressful week, the loosening of the muscles and joints help you unwind and even soothes away minor aches and pains.  A nice compliment to an evening watching tv, out at the movies, or plopped in front of the Playstation, be sure to plan your munchies ahead and keep them close.  The appetite stimulation of Sherbert is intense; matched only by its couchlock.

Fruity Pebbles from PSA Review

Growing up, when I didn’t want to eat what was being served to our family, my mother always had the same response: “I only cook once.  Don’t like it?  Eat some cereal.”  And so I did.  Meal after meal, chances were high I’d be gnoshing on some Cheerios, Frankenberry, or Apple Jacks.  All these years later, little has changed, and bowls of fruity cereal still make up a significant portion of my diet.  So to be finally getting my hands on Fruity Pebbles from PSA, a strain I’ve coveted for some time, is more than satisfying.

Although Fruity Pebbles is generally accepted as exhibiting a vague set of genetics, the Alien Genetics version uses a breeding of Green Ribbon x GDP and Tahoe OG x Alien Kush for their Fruity Pebbles OG, giving us a reliable starting point.  The sight of these frosty, multi-hued buds from PSA alone is enough to earn their namesake, rich with purple and green and orange.  Add in the fruity scent and flavor, and you have one uniquely distinct strain. Defined by heapings of the ripe dark berry Purp-Terp flavor, Fruity Pebbles has a fruit smoothie like taste in the green hit.

Thanks to the variety of heavy indicas in play here, Fruity Pebbles is characterized by loads of body relaxation, marked by an easiness in the shoulders.  Chronic pain is also diminished as muscles and joints are lulled into relief.  A touch drowsy after the peak, Fruity Pebbles would make do for mild bouts of insomnia.  It isn’t all about the body relief, though.  Pain relief is accompanied by a subtle mood elevation, without the cerebral rush, helping chronic patients battle through the day.

XXX Super Lemon Haze from PSA Review by OCWeedReview.Com

A well grown Super Lemon Haze is a wonderous thing.  Uniquely sensuous and singular in its cerebral effects, this hybrid of Super Silver Haze and Lemon Skunk is a zesty treat for sativa users.  Years ago, I used to frequent a hole in the wall shop in Garden Grove to get the finest fix of this precious strain.  Now I go to PSA because they reliably have in the best Super Lemon Haze in Orange County.

One phrase best sums up Super Lemon Haze: “sticky sweet lemon”.  The nugs’ greenery is turned pastel by its excess of trichomes, as are the pale orange hairs that spring in clumps from the buds.  Breaking up the buds by hand is sure to leave a hoppy and sweet citrus scent and sticky residue on the fingertips.  However, it is the sugary, candied lemon flavor that makes Super Lemon Haze my single favorite lemon strain.

Laden with Haze and Skunk genetics, the high manifests first as a heady, faded feeling, immediately noticeable upon medicating.  Sensory stimulation can be overwhelming, and Super Lemon Haze is often tweaky, with high THC numbers increasing the chance of paranoia or panic attacks.  Excellent for depression due to its high energy and increased happiness and satisfaction, Super Lemon Haze is a go to for daytime mood elevation.

Ganja Gold Fire OG Tarantula Joint Review by OCWeedReview.Com

One of our past featured Strains of the Week, Fire OG is a cut of the weighty SFV OGphenotype.  For this review, it makes its way into one of Ganja Gold’s exceptional pre-rolls.  Fast growing in popularity, Fire OG is the OG Kush cut for the indica lover, giving the traditional OG a more physically appealing high.

Ganja Gold’s tarantula pre-rolls are reliably convenient and incredibly potent.  Filled with top shelf flower, this time Fire OG, these tarantula joints are then coated in CO2 extracted oil and rolled in kief, making for a unique medicating experience.  However, unlike other pre-rolls, Ganja Gold’s joints burn consistently and evenly and surprisingly slow for an oiled up joint.

Fire OG has a woody charcoal flavor that shines through the oil and kief layers, and notes of pine and astringent lemon linger in the exhale.  Effective for relief from muscle and joint pain, the high leans narcotic, and the sedation and relaxation can manifest as a melting couch lock.  However, Fire OG leaves a heady rush to the forehead, and like most pain medications, operating heavy machinery is not recommended after use.  A good option for your late evening strain, Fire OG is best to help unwind after a particularly physical day.

Ganja Gold Double Dream Tarantula Joint Review by OCWeedReview.Com

My first “favorite” strain after I moved to California and discovered that good marijuana has names was Blue Dream.  More than any other strain, it embodied what I was looking for in my medication.  So given this loyalty, you’d think I’d be against hybrids messing with perfection.  And although I’d be slow to admit any that improve on Blue Dream, there are several that shape it in excellent new directions, as we see here with the folding in of Stardawg genetics here.

Each of Ganja Gold’s pre-rolled tarantula joints are filled with top shelf indoor flower, not indiscriminate shake.  These joints are then coated in CO2 wax and rolled in a layer of kief.  Overkill?  Not at all.  Tarantula joints have been around for some time; though I’ve never seen them as skillfully done as these by Ganja Gold.  Easy to light, with a slow easy burn every time, the sheer convenience of these pre-rolls goes without saying: great for solo sessions or for passing around.

Ganja Gold’s pre-rolls are absolutely strain specific.  I would know the smell, taste, and experience of Blue Dream’s influence anywhere — full as it is with berry flavors and hints of warm baking spices.  This comes as a comfort to patients who want to be sure they are getting the right medication for their symptoms.  And with effects ranging from the euphoric to physically comforting, Ganja Gold’s Double Dream pre-rolls are best for depression, anxiety, PTSD, and even some minor sources of pain.

Paris OG Tarantula Joint from Ganja Gold Review

In LA these days, it is near impossible to exist in the cannabis community without interacting with the wildly popular Paris OG.  On instagram, in the shops, at the festivals, on hats and pins: the name is everywhere.  So it is long past time we got Paris OG featured on the Review.

The interwebs led me to believe that Paris OG is one of two possible hybrids.  The first is between Lemon OG and Headband.  The second option would be a breeding of Sour D and an OG Kush cut.  If the later is true, then Paris OG is just be a phenotype of Headband, itself.

The strong fuel smell, noticeable even in this tarantula joint, and diesel pine flavor seem to confirm the Headband presence in Paris OG.  However, these joints offer far more than just top notch genetics.  Oiled with CO2 oil and frosted over in kief, these hand rolled joints go above and beyond.  While testing these tarantula joints from Ganja Gold, we didn’t have an issue with the joint going out; something most other pre-rolls brands cannot boast.  Every tarantula joint from Ganja Gold offered a slow, smooth, consistent burn.

The Paris OG high itself is a meeting of two well known strains from the East and West Coasts.  Happy and uplifting, New York’s Sour D is a soaring sativa that gives purpose to your day.  Add to this plenty of OG Kush relaxation, and these Paris OG tarantula joints from Ganja Gold are an effective all day medication for stress induced anxiety and tension that won’t sedate or slow you down.

Cherry Pie from Strictly OG Strain Review by OCWeedReview.Com

Growing up in the 80’s, I loved hair metal songs for, among other things, their gratuitously sexual overtones, and one of the most overtly sexual was Warrant’s Cherry Pie.  Starting with the album cover and continuing through to the video, this song oozed a sort of dirty lustfulness.  Cherry Pie is an equally sexy strain.  With genetics pulling from Grand Daddy Purp (indica) x Durban Poison (sativa) with a possible cross of OG Kush with the Durban, she’s been blessed with all the right genes.

These Cherry Pie buds were a combination of sweet and tart, drawing on both the dark berry from GDP and a lighter earthy sweetness from the Durban.  It is almost candy sweet and sticky on the fingers.  When looking at the nuggets, there are some dark greenery accents mixed along hand trimmed buds.  This Cherry Pie has golden blond hairs and creamy trichomes.  Aesthetically one of the most interesting strains I’ve seen, it is gorgeous flowers like this that made me start this site in the first place.

Prior to reviewing this Cherry Pie, I had been smoking Strictly OG’s Blue Dream.  When the Cherry Pie’s effects took over, the change was immediate and distinct.  There was a weird back and forth struggle in the high’s characteristics, and the mixed Cherry Pie genetics seemed to be pulling me strongly up and strongly down.  Unlike the Blue Dream, which seems to give a soft, balanced high, the smoothest aspects of each parent strain, Cherry Pie takes the most intense characteristics of each parent and pits them against each other.  In the end, the Durban’s caffeine like rush is subdued by the narcotic high of the GDP, creating effects perfect for anxiety, mild pain, or PTSD.

Sour D Tarantula Joint from Ganja Gold Review by OCWeedReview.Com

To me, Sour Diesel is “The” NYC strain, and Ganja Gold presents it here in a potent pre-roll.  Coming from the East Coast myself, legend had it that all of the tri-state area was supplied from a single warehouse in Brooklyn.  And it was always Sour D.  While the likeliness of this is low, I do recall getting the same buds all through high school and again when I returned home for grad school.  And it would explain the endless sativa high that conditioned me to love the cerebral effects of a strain like Sour D.

These Sour D tarantula joint pre-rolls are started with top shelf outdoor organic bud.  Before being rolled in kief, they are given a base of CO2 oil to hold the powdery kief in place and ensuring a perfectly even burn, from start to end.  The scent of these pre-rolls is noticeably a skunky diesel, the smell of weed as I know it.  Loaded with the high-enhancing Myrcene and lung expanding Limonene terpenes, Sour D has a way of getting you that much higher than the next leading sativa strain.

An active strain, Sour Diesel is perfect for the hustle and bustle of the greater NYC area and separates itself from the characteristic mellow OG strains preferred here in SoCal.  Patients will find these Sour D pre-rolls to be wonderful for depression and the psychosomatic side of stress and anxiety. High THC and low CBD numbers mean both lock and body effects are at a minimum, while heady effects are soaring.

Honey B Nectar from Hungry Monkey Company Review by OCWeedReview.Com

I was able to meet up with the Hungry Monkey Company during a recent Weed 4 Warriors event held at the OC Norml office in Santa Ana.  After a sesh and a sampling and some fine conversation, I walked away with their Honey B nectar to feature on the site.  The 2013 HTCC 1st place winner in San Bernardino in the extracts category, Honey B is a Barney’s Farm creation and as soaring a sativa as you can find.

This extract sample from the Hungry Monkey Co. was a buttery light color and had a softer consistency.  It worked well in several of our pens in the office, as well as off our domeless ceramic.  Honey B as a concentrate makes for a flavorful dab, like sweet candied orange, with a sugary after-taste on the exhale.   I could vape this extract all day.  And I did. Until it was gone

Modest dabs of this Honey B nectar created enormous clouds of vapor, and lung expansion was out of this world.  The high hits immediately in a rush upon exhale.  It is physically comforting, but Honey B really shines in its cerebral effects, as expected from its almost entirely sativa genetics.  The clear, focused high makes it useful as a workday strain.  But patients will find it an effective treatment for depression and other psychosomatic symptoms at any time.

There is little wonder that Honey B scored the gold two years ago at the SoCal Cannabis Cup.  An incredibly uplifting sativa, we quickly exhausted our sample from the Hungry Monkey Company with constant, flavorful dabs.  A crowd favorite, and enthusiastically endorsed by us here at the Review, sativa lovers are sure to love this extract.

Remington Extracts White Widow Shatter Review : OCWeedReview.Com

White Widow is one of the most popular and recognizable strains in the world.  It’s first breeding in the Netherlands in the early ‘90’s can trace its genetics to the original landraces: a sativa from South America and a carefully selected indica from the Sub-Indian regions.  Shortly later in 1995, it won the Cannabis Cup.  Since then, it has enjoyed wild popularity in South Florida and worldwide and has been crossed with an endless variety of strains, creating hybrids across the spectrum of effects.  Just recently, White Widow has had a resurgence in LA and Orange Counties appearing on nearly every menu in town.

This extract had a dull, hardwood color and was unfortunately auto-buddered, as certain strains are apt to do, by the time we reviewed it.  It would work well in a vape pen in this state, though I prefered it off the domeless.  Even with a glowing hot nail, there was a clearly noticeable punky wood scent, like a wet fern forest.  The vapor was full and expansive, and I had to prepare myself for the huge hits even a modest dab would make.

As I’ve come to expect with Remington Extracts work, this White Widow shatter was incredibly potent.  However, the pulsing high is focused and energetic — even a bit manic at times.  With all the hypeStrawberry Cough has received this year as an effective strain for when on the clock, White Widow’s creative drive has helped me finish many more projects, even late into the evening, than any other strain.
