Kushy Punch Edible Review by OCWeedReview.Com

Few companies have managed such universal brand recognition as Kushy Punch has in our industry.  They seem to have an ad in every magazine and a booth at every event.  Around for as long as I’ve been a patient, it was a recent revamp in their product that has drawn me back in for a much closer look.  No longer the sticky, taffy like consistency they used to be, making cutting them to smaller servings difficult at best, the new and improved Kushy Punch is a pre-sliced gummy that is ready to dose right out of the package.

Conscious of the varied needs of their patients, Kushy Punch is available in a range of effects, each with its own flavor.  Coming in 80 mg of cannabinoids per pack are the strawberry sativa, raspberry hybrid, and cherry indica.  Each is true to its label.  The bright and euphoric sativa is excellent for mood enhancement, while the more sedative indica is great for pain and anxiety.  If you need a more rounded edible, the hybrid encapsulates the best of both for a balanced effect profile.  Kushy Punch also offers a lime flavored TKO version packing 200 mg for the high dose patient, and a 60 mg CBD for specific pain and anxiety relief with less psychoactivity.  Each of the unique and tasty flavors was true to form, and made with just a touch of organic sugar, each serving has just 7 calories.  However, there was a trademark bitterness in the throat after consumed, as is common with small but potent edibles.

I found these small, portable edibles to be incredibly convenient.  This starts with their portability.  The square box is just larger than a quarter and fits conveniently into your pocket, purse, or bag.  Through my product testing, I kept a box on me at all times so that the real world application of Kushy Punch could be examined.  Never caught without my medication, these tiny edibles were discreet enough to be used anywhere.  Fresh when first opened, they get a bit chewy if not consumed within a few days.  But even weeks after unwrapping for the first time, they were manageable, if not a bit gummy.  After having Kushy Punch available to me whenever I was caught needing to medicate, it is going to be hard imagining transitioning away from this innovative little edible now that we have completed our review.

Spliffin OG Vape Review by OCWeedReview.com

If you are going to take on a signature strain for your company, you better make sure it’s a doozy — what with your brand name on the line and all.  And Spliffin’ does just that in their outstanding Spliffin’ OG, giving the type of experience you would expect from their flagship extract.  A nod to Spliffin’s location in LA’s Arts District, they pulled their genetics for Spliffin’ OG from SoCal’s favorite OG Kush.  They then cross it with Larry OG, a hybrid in itself of OG Kush and the SFV OG cut of OG.  All in all, Spliffin’ OG is a refined expression of what a classic OG strain can be.

Because Spliffin’ OG is a part of Spliffin’s superior Pure lineup of vape pens, you get all extract and no fillers, distinguishing them from many other brands. With their entire line of extracts testing in at over 70% THC, the vaporous hits you get are loaded with potency.  The high quality hardware of the cartridges matches the extracts inside.  Each cartridge has a solid, durable feel, without too much added weight, thanks to the stainless steel, and superior leak prevention due to use of exceptional materials.  I’ve yet to have a Spliffin’ cartridge fail on me in any way.  The tempered glass cylinder allows you to appreciate the golden color of the extract, while the wickless heating element makes sure you enjoy its vapor with consistently full hits.

The earthy flavor of the typical OG profile, woody and acidic, is enhanced here with a natural, floral note in the exhale.  As with any manifestation of OG Kush, Spliffin’ OG is an incredibly relaxed, if not a bit disconnected, high.  Perfect for anti-anxiety effects, stress melts away as the mind wanders from tense thoughts and is allowed to settle in unexpectedly pleasant places.  The body is also affected with a soft, melting physical high.  There is some lethargy, especially in the come down or if used with frequency.  This makes Spliffin’ OG an option for treatment of insomnia or to just settle a racing mind before bed.  I’ve come to be prepared for Spliffin’s potency, but their Spliffin’ OG seemed to hit me all the harder with its calming, sedating effects, forcing me to pause a moment during my normally hectic days.  And that makes it worth its weight in gold.

Alien OG from W Vapes Review by OCWeedReview.Com

W Vapes comes to us with one of the most advanced totally disposable pens on the market.  Loaded with 350 mg of Alien OG extracted cannabis oil, once empty, you simply throw the whole pen away, battery and all.  The environmental type?  So are W Vapes, and they encourage you to recycle your pens by mailing them back to them postage free.

One of our favorite characteristics of the W Vapes is its small and portable format.  Easily thrown into a pocket, these pens let you vape your cannabis anywhere vaping is allowed.  And because the W Vapes pen looks like any other disposable e-cigarette on the market, discreet medicating is a snap, regardless of your setting.

Overall, I was surprised at how sturdy these pens were, considering that they were completely disposable.  Although the tendency towards cheap construction is strong among disposable products, W Vapes uses durable parts to keep your pen working from beginning to end.  That said, I would discourage long storage of your pen once you begin use.  Tight draws become more of a problem when your pen is left sitting over time.

W Vapes use clean and safe supercritical CO2 extracted oil in their disposable pens, making them a healthy option when choosing a vape brand.  By the means of a proprietary technique, terpenes are separated and reintroduced during the extraction process to ensure strain specific characteristics in every pen.  This step places W Vapes apart from their competition, who usually see exhausted terpenes as an acceptable loss.

With most W Vapes oils coming in around 50% THC, they fall in the midrange for potency among vape pens, perfect for precise medicating without needing to worry about overdoing it.  Knowing W Vapes provides strain specific effects and flavors, I was expecting a stoney head, a sedated body, and a piney and citrus flavor.  Check, check, and… check.  A hybrid of Tahoe OG and Alien Kush, Alien OG is the heavy indica you’d expect from an OG and Kush hybrid, making this pen an effective solution for pain control, anti-anxiety effects, and insomnia relief.

Sherbert Tarantula Joint from Ganja Gold Review by OCWeedReview.Com

Ganja Gold bill themselves as the connoisseurs’ pre-roll: a bold claim, regardless of the item.  However, time after time, they prove it to be true.  Always a clean, even burn, Ganja Gold tarantula joints are more than worth the price they fetch.  Each joint is hand rolled with premium top shelf flower and finished with CO2 oil and a layer of kief: think Kurupt Moon Rocks, but as a pre-rolled joint.  There is an excessiveness to Ganja Gold’s tarantula joints that makes them a uniquely special product.

There has been a flourish of “flavored” joints similar in construction and price to these tarantulas from Ganja Gold.  And if you want your cannabis to taste like a sour apple ring pop, then by all means.  However, if you want nothing to get in the way of the complex flavor of top shelf flower, cannabis oil, and kief, then step up to the adult’s pre-roll and grab a Ganja Gold.

I always found the Sherbert strain of the GSC lineage to be a really stoney high.  Fitting for anti-anxiety relief after a stressful week, the loosening of the muscles and joints help you unwind and even soothes away minor aches and pains.  A nice compliment to an evening watching tv, out at the movies, or plopped in front of the Playstation, be sure to plan your munchies ahead and keep them close.  The appetite stimulation of Sherbert is intense; matched only by its couchlock.

The Herbal Chef THC Infused Cuisine Review by OCWeedReview.Com

For the longest time, cannabis and food meant skunky brownies and rice krispy treats, made at home or bought out of the back of a van at the Phish show.  However, as the industry matures, they are slowly learning that you can put cannabis in just about anything that uses butter or oil, opening up a world of infused culinary possibilities.  This, of course, culminates in the work of Christopher Sayegh, The Herbal Chef.  Creating fully serviced multi-course, cannabis infused meals, he is putting a whole new twist on the catered dinner party.

Coming from a family that embraced cooking and eating together, a career as a chef was a natural undertaking for Chris.  However, it wasn’t until his technique was hardened in the kiln that is the kitchen of a Michelin rated restaurant that Chris became the chef he is today.  Training extensively under James Beard Award winning head chefs, the gratifying experience is recalled fondly by him as, “the hardest time of my life.”  Since then, Chris has been bringing his skill and passion to medicated fine dining, cooking under the Herbal Chef brand for the past six years.

Preparation for Chris’s meals begins months in advance with visits to the event’s location to begin searching for his ingredients from neighboring farms.  Truly adopting a locally sourced attitude, Chris pulls his seasonal menus from the event’s surrounding area to put the diner in touch with the region.  Ingredients not obtained locally are brought in from carefully selected vendors, such as certified Wagyu beef from Japan, fine imported caviar, and prized truffles.  Doing whatever it takes to craft the perfect culinary experience, Chris is not above foraging for his own culinary elements, including perfectly paired wines and liquors from Napa and beyond.

Each The Herbal Chef meal is customizable, though Chris works best when kept off a tight leash.  Surprising even the pickiest of palates, he uses his extensive training in taste and texture to craft adventurous menus, often featuring methods that Chris himself refers to as avant garde.  Even just a glance into his favorite courses reveals this bold spirit: options include fennel panna cotta, apricot gele, and smoked pepper; locally sourced seasonal vegetables, basil and cayenne oils, and a mozzarella “cloud”; or leg of lamb, escargot, foraged mushrooms, and an arugula “moss”.  Creativity in craft and presentation allows Chris to conceive breathtaking meals.  The dinners themselves can be medicated at varying doses for individual guests, meaning everyone at the table is able to enjoy the entire meal, regardless of their tolerance level or usage.

From planning to execution to cleanup, Chris and his team take care of everything, leaving guests to enjoy the experience worry free.  The Herbal Chef events include an educational session about cannabis dosing and edibles, pairing information about wine and liquor choices, and detailed descriptions of each course, making these catered dinners accessible to all levels of patient, regardless of their experience with either cannabis or cuisine.

Roll-uh-Bowl Review by OCWeedReview.Com

We all know the feeling of breaking a cherished glass piece.  The long second as it lingers, then falls, bringing your heart crashing to the ground with it.  It’s a far too common occurrence, magnified by today’s on the go stoner.  I’ve been guilty, myself, of perilously resting my favorite rig on a rock high up on the hiking trail or sharing it around with slippery fingered strangers at one of the many cannabis conventions at the NOS Center in San Bernardino, inviting an inevitable tragedy.

Thankfully, Roll-uh-Bowl has set out to help us avoid such dangers.  Portable and compact, their silicon bongs can go with you anywhere: folding down from 8 inches tall to pocket sized.  They are also incredibly durable.  There is no need here for some complicated pelican case to protect your precious glass; the silicon can take all the abuse you give it.  And a sturdy composite downstem ensures you’ll be using your Roll-uh-Bowl for years to come.

One of our favorite benefits of the Roll-uh-bowl was its convenience.  Because it can be taken with you so easily, it has found its way with us to concerts and festivals, hikes and camping trips, and even out on the water on a stand up paddle board.  Just unfold it when you need it, and then drain it to store again for later.  The Roll-uh-Bowl can even be used with a domeless nail for dabs.  (check out this video to see how it works)  This means that dabbers can leave their most precious glass at home where it is safe and still enjoy their favorite extract wherever they go.

Most significantly, the Roll-uh-Bowl is safe for the user.   Made with the same medical grade silicon as baby bottle nipples, patients don’t have to worry about the leaching of harmful chemicals during use.  Cleanup is easy too, thanks to the silicon construction.  Save the rock salt and rubbing alcohol, all you need is soap and water.  Or even better, just toss it in your dishwasher for a cycle.

The essential smoking piece for the active stoner, the Roll-uh-Bowl can go with you on any adventure.  But more importantly, it will come home with you, too.  For more information, visit roll-uh-bowl.com

Stokes Confections Watermelon Micros Review by OCWeedReview.Com

I’m pleased as punch to see companies in our industry come to embrace the low dose patient, recognizing that a 5 mg baseline is recommended as the average psychoactive dose for beginners.  For those patients who only require single digit THC numbers, products like Stokes Watermelon Micros are the perfect low dose choice.  And with packaging similar to a pill bottle, Stokes Micros are a fitting match to your medicine cabinet at home, your desk at the office, or anywhere else you keep your pharmaceuticals.

Stokes Micros are not much bigger than a tic tac or Starbucks mint, making them discreet and unobtrusive.  Because they are fast acting, thanks to sublingual uptake, they are an efficient way to medicate.  Each bottle of Stokes candies contains 20 individual micros at 5 mg each, for a total of 100 mg per package.

Mercifully sugar free and less than 3 calories per micro, they won’t leave you pudgy like more saccharine sweets.  Stokes are available in a range of flavors, like Honey Lemon Ginger and Mint, but we tested the subtly sweet watermelon.  They are just a bit sour in the back of the throat, especially if chewed up.  But the watermelon flavoring is spot on and did all it could to cover the cannabis.

Stokes are made with a solventless extraction of organic cannabis, so you can be sure you are medicating safely and are lab tested to guarantee potency.  Patients who need to closely manage their intake will appreciate Stokes’ reliability: no more trying to pull off tiny pieces of a 250 mg brownie and guessing the milligram count.

As a moderate patient who enjoys 35-70 mg per dose, I found that these tiny mints can also work to accent or maintain an existing high, magnifying and extending effects.  Long after a high should wear off, Stokes Micros can keep it going.  Kept conveniently at hand, these tiny candies are excellent for times when open medicating is impossible and discretion is necessary.

Regardless of tolerance, all levels of patient can find a place for Stokes Micros, delighting in their ease of precise dosing, low calorie flavor, and unassuming use in public.

Phantom OG Tarantula Joint from Ganja Gold Review by OCWeedReview.Com

Here in Southern California, we live in the land of OG Kush.  It’s calming, mellow high is a staple on Orange County menus, and there seems to be an endless parade of phenotypes and hybrids to contend with.  But occasionally, a black sheep is born.  Phantom OG is OG Kush’s dark and brooding older brother.  Better suited for after sundown, it is a heavier, stronger OG high, corralled here by Ganja Gold into one of their trademark tarantula joints.

This smooth burning pre-roll from Ganja Gold smoked slow and even, creating thick smoke and resinous ash, hinting at a bold indica lean.  The Phantom OG flower tasted of grape and dark berry (classic purp terp) and spicy smoked wood.  There is also a subtle nuttiness present thanks to the Platinum Cookies genetics.

Compared with a typical pre-roll, Ganja Gold tarantula joints are like night and day.  The differences begin with the top shelf bud, which must meet Ganja Gold’s strict screening process.  This is hand rolled into a cone with CO2 wax, hash, and finished with a layer of golden kief.  When tested side by side with the typical pre-roll of bleached papers and bottom of the jar shake or even trim, Ganja Gold joints are the connoisseurs joint: offering a better taste, a softer smoke, and a more potent high.

Phantom OG is the likely result of breeding the Phantom Cookies cut and Ken’s Kush with its Fire OG lineage.  This cross makes for a heady and stoned high.  Heavy in the eyes and shoulders, it wasn’t long until I was off my feet.  A short time later, I was asleep on the couch, halfway through a night of Adult Swim.  Clearly effective for insomnia, it is also useful for moderate chronic pain, helping sufferers get a well needed night’s sleep.

Deez Nutz Cookie from Super Baked Review by OCWeedReview.Com

As the edibles industry rapidly grows, we here at the Review have become increasingly vigilant in discovering companies that we feel are, if you will, “doing it right”. Creativity in design, lab tested numbers, and socially ethical ingredients all contribute to an industry leading edible, and Super Baked displays each in spades.

The Super Baked consideration for detail begins with their ingredients. Locally sourced, sometimes obtained as close by as right in their backyard of Oceanside, they create an important link between Super Baked and their community. Organic ingredients like unbleached whole wheat flour, cane sugar, and coconut palm sugar are combined with cage free eggs, hemp seed hearts, and flax meal to create a wholesome and socially responsible edible.

But the real stars of the Super Baked Deez Nutz cookie are, of course, the nuts. Well, only the hazelnuts are true nuts. Technically speaking, almonds and pistachios are drupes, like the cherry, but no one would buy a cookie called Deez Drupes and a Nut. I was especially excited by the interesting combination of rarely used cookie nuts, like the hazelnut, and shows the way in which Super Baked is willing to think outside the typical edible to craft their cookies.

The 125 mg of THC in the Deez Nutz cookie is backed with testing done by PharmLabs, so you know exactly what potency you are receiving. Dosing out baked goods can be difficult, and I was content to just nibble and munch. However, I found the high to be engaging and productive. After eating nearly the entire cookie in a few hours in the office, I was still able to complete quite a bit of work. Eventually, the effects peaked, leaving me stoney and creative. There is plenty of residual body buzz to help combat mild to moderate pain, while the calming sedation soothes away stress.

Divider Pro Non-Stick Container Review by OCWeedReview.Com

In terms of extract use, a good set of quality non-stick silicon surfaces and containers is essential to any dabber.  It is here, that Divider Pro has got you covered.  Offering products in a range of shapes and sizes to fit any extract collection, Divider Pro delivers unparalleled construction, using a thicker, higher quality silicon than many other brands.  Most of their jars come in a grippy, textured finish, so you shouldn’t worry about dropping them.  But if you do, thanks for their strong, locking fit for the lids, it won’t pop open from the impact of dropping it or the force of keeping it in your pocket.

For our review, we tested the small portable jar, the three section glow-in-the-dark divided jar, and the playing card slab holder, working them into our typical dab routine to see how they would fare.

Big enough for a half gram or so of wax or honeycomb, more if storing shatter, the mini-jar is the perfect on the go solution for small amounts of extract.  Sturdy enough to leave in a pocket without fear of opening, I loved the convenience of knowing my medication was within reach.  I kept it in my pocket with my wax pen for when I needed to reload.  The tight lid helped contain the smell, while the small size kept it inconspicuous, making it indispensable for the discreet vaper.

The most useful of the three for my uses was the three compartment divided jar.  Capable of holding over a gram or more of a trio of extracts, you’ll never be left at a loss.  Since I’m always keeping multiple extracts on hand at any given moment for the site, keeping them together, but separate is essential.  This used to mean a different jar for each extract.  Now I can keep three at a time, giving me the medicating options I need through the day.  Divider Pro Non-Stick Container Review

Last in our review was the ace of spades silicon slab holder.  Large enough to store multi-gram slabs, the thin, flat silicon box keeps your shatter in pristine condition without needing to break it up.  However, you don’t need to keep large quantities of extract on hand to find a use for this product.  Convenient when used as a portable dab pad, it is easier to keep your dabbing surface clean in transit when it comes with a top.

Pleased as punch with the selection of Divider Pro containers provided for this review, we found they fit seamlessly into our current habits when dabbing.  Just scratching the surface with these three products, Divider Pro has a wide line of containers to meet your needs.

Jilly OG from Moxie Revi

I was asked once by a fellow patient whether Moxie extracts were really worth the $10-20 dollars more a gram it goes for in the shops.  To this, I answered, “Absolutely”.  I donate for other brands, all relatively similar in price and presentation.  But the results are always dark brown and tacky and anything but what I have come to expect in a quality shatter, leaving me disappointed when I get home.  So for a few bucks more, I grab Moxie and guarantee I’ll be happy with my choice in meds.

Upon unfolding the parchment this Jilly OG extract is stored in, the terpy scent hits you immediately: tropical and woody.  Flavorful dabs match this profile with a nectar sweet and light cypress wood dominating the subtle orange and spice notes.  The shatter itself is a pale yellow.  Thin and nearly clear enough to see through, Moxie has nailed clarity in this run, creating a perfect shatter.

A longtime favorite on the site, Jilly Bean is a hybrid of Orange Velvet and another popular strain around the office, Space Queen (Cindy 99 x Romulan).  This sativa dominant strain is then crossed with an unidentified OG, because it is Southern California and that’s what we do.  Mostly an upbeat and happy high, Jilly Bean is the kick in the ass needed some days to get motivated.  Adding the OG refines this into a more reposed, weekend strain for days tossing the frisbee at the beach, golfing, or otherwise enjoying your time off.

Nail Crown Review by OCWeedReview.Com

As the cannabis industry continues to rapidly expand, I am regularly coming across products I didn’t know I needed until I had one.  The Nail Crown falls firmly in this category, leaving me to wonder how I ever lived without it.  Constructed from heat resistant, non-stick silicone, it is perfect for the everyday dabber on the go.  In the few short weeks that we have worked the Nail Crown into our dabbing routine, it has already proven itself invaluable.

What makes the Nail Crown such a worthy addition to your dab tray is its incredible versatility.  Firstly, you can use your Nail Crown to hold your dab tool loaded up with a dab across the top of the crown, keeping it handy and clear of obstructions until your nail is ready.  You can also use the scooped surface on the top of the crown as a dab pad to hold your wax or shatter as you pull off dabs for your session.  As a bonus, you can even use nectar collectors directly off the crown.  The heat resistant silicone makes them effective for safely removing warm nails without burnt fingers — our favorite use.  When placed inside the Nail Crown, nails and tools are stored conveniently in one place without mess.  And because they are made with non-stick silicon, clean up is a cinch with the tip of your dab tool or, at worst, soap and water or a wipe with an alcohol swab.

Nail Crowns come in standard, glow in the dark, and color changing options in a wide range of eye catching colors, making it easy to personalize your dab set with your favorite.  No matter which you choose or how you use it, there is a Nail Crown out there, ready to change the way you dab.  Safety, portability, versatility: no modern dabber should be without one.

Jack Herer from Spliffin Vape Review by OCWeedReview.Com

By now, it is of no surprise that we here at the Review are big fans of the Spliffin’ vape brand.  Delivering quality extracts and lasting durability, Spliffin’ fills a much needed gap in the portable vape market.  This being our third outing with one of their vape cartridges, we were confident that Spliffin’s Jack Herer Pure vape topper would hit our high expectations once again.

I hesitate to call Spliffin’ a high end product only because a product shouldn’t be considered high end just because it does its job right.  At $60 a gram in most shops, Spliffin’ is priced to sell, considering their strains test in at over 70% THC.  Combine this much higher than average potency with their solid stainless steel and tempered glass construction, and Spliffin’ embarasses their competition.  Finally, we’ve discovered that for which we were so long searching: a truly reliable disposable vape system that can rival the best extracts in the shops.

Originally a Sensi Seeds creation and still available among their genetics, Jack Herer, named after the activist and author, is a hybrid of Haze and a Northern Lights and Shiva Skunk cross.  Best known for its high content of Pinene and Limonene, Jack Herer is a blast of sweet lemon and spicy cured pinewood.  Here in Spliffin’s Pure line, there are no fillers to get in the way of Jack’s terpy goodness.

A sativa dominant strain, Jack Herer’s high is foremost uplifting and joyful.  An absolute mood changer, it is just the strain to lift you out of a funk.  However, users most rave about Jack’s creative and purposeful qualities.  Excellent for those who are able to work while medicated, the Jack Herer strain has been the galvanizing force behind more than a few of my projects in the office.  While most patients will find it most effective against depression, Jack is surprisingly helpful for nausea and offers some minimal pain relief as well.

Visit Spliffin’ for more information.
